Being a pioneer and an innovator means having the ability to inspire, to dare, and to look beyond.

Riccardo Faletti was — and remains — one of those rare individuals who combined outstanding clinical expertise with deep technological insight, driven by an innate curiosity that continuously led him toward innovation. Through his work and example, he inspired many young colleagues who aspired to follow in his footsteps.

Full Professor in Turin, a leading cardiac radiologist, and President-Elect of the SIRM Cardiac Radiology Section, Riccardo was also a passionate sportsman and a devoted supporter of Torino FC, his beloved “Grande Toro.”

He passed away suddenly last night under tragic circumstances, leaving behind his wife and two young children.

Scientific societies strive to provide educational leadership, but they are also, at their core, communities that stand together in moments of loss.

The ESCR Board extends its deepest condolences to his family and to all who knew and worked with him. His loss is immeasurable.

We will not forget you, Ricky.

Che la terra ti sia lieve.
