The ESCR would like to thank all colleagues who participated in the recent ESR elections. Your engagement in our professional governance matters, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to read the candidates’ statements and cast their vote. We also extend our thanks to all candidates who put themselves forward—whatever the outcome, your willingness to serve our community is valued.

We must also address an unfortunate matter. During the campaign, unsubstantiated claims were circulated regarding Prof. Marco Francone. These claims have since been retracted by their source. The ESCR Board firmly distances itself from such practices, which have no place in our professional community. We want to state clearly and without reservation: the integrity of our candidates is beyond question. Prof. Francone has been, and remains, an example of professional and personal integrity. The ESCR stands fully behind him, and we regret that he was subjected to this during the electoral process.

His election by ESR members confirms what those who know him already understood: he has rightly earned the trust of our community. We wish him every success in his new role as ESR Communications & Interdisciplinary Affairs Committee Chair.
